New, demo, second-hand and vintage Persian carpets to suit all budgets and tastes.
Our carpets are only authentic hand-knotted Persian carpets – we do not offer machine-made or synthetic reproduction ‘Persians’ at all.
Our carpets are curated, selected from piles and piles of Persians only if they are special in some way … the colour, the design, the subject.
Our focus on only ‘hand-knotted’ (made by humans in real organic wool) and ‘Persian’ (made in Iran) is unique in an industry that is confusing for a newbie buyer; its an industry that typically mixes synthetics with some hand-knotteds, Persians (from Iran) with carpets from other areas.
These are are important distinctions that newbie buyers may not realise are critical if you are looking for an heirloom piece that will endure for decades.
We sell only hand-knotted Persians; so you will not be confused by machine-made, ‘hand-loomed’, or ‘hand-tufted’ synthetic carpets.
We sell only Persian carpets; so you will not be confused by carpets from other regions like India, Pakistan, Afghan, or Turkey.
This focus guarantees that each piece is an authentic hand-knotted Persian carpet made in Iran. There is no confusion here between disposable mass-produced items and high quality handmade art.
Based in Johannesburg with nationwide courier available.
BY HAND, IN REAL WOOL, PERSIAN CARPETS ARE A TRADITION OF SKILL, PATIENCE AND TIME
Authentic Persian carpets are hand-knotted in Iran using centuries-old weaving traditions passed down through generations. Because of this heritage, each piece reflects exceptional craftsmanship and cultural depth. Every carpet is crafted from pure natural wool and follows a recognised regional tradition such as Tabriz, Kashan, Isfahan or Nain. As a result, each design carries the identity and artistry of its place of origin.
Unlike machine-made imitations, authentic Persian carpets reveal subtle variations in pattern and structure, which clearly reflect the touch of human hands. In addition, the colours develop natural depth over time, while the texture remains substantial and organic. For this reason, these carpets are not simply decorative accessories. Instead, they become heirloom-quality works of art designed to last for generations.
An authentic Persian carpet reveals itself when you engage with it fully.
It feels substantial and organic — never glossy, plastic-like or slippery.
Turn it over. The knots will not be mechanically uniform. You will see slight variations in tension and spacing. The fringe is not sewn on — it forms part of the carpet’s structure, created from the original warp threads.
And above all, there is something harder to define: presence.
A genuine Persian carpet carries warmth. Depth. Humanity.
Collectors often say — you recognize your carpet the moment you meet it.
